Film trophies. Film repertoire and spectatorship in the 1940s/50s Riga

As proof of the victory in the World War II, the Soviet Union brought home the so-called trophy films and part of them were screened in cinemas. Trophy films have created new trophies — the filmgoers’ memories of their youth, of the controversial time of the 1940s /50s, of the great popularity of cinema-going. The exhibition "Film Trophies" (2014-2015) told the story of the period’s film repertoire, cinemas of Riga and filmgoers. The catalogue of the exhibition is available to download.

Veidojot "235 000 000'' (1967, rež. Uldis Brauns), kas ir joprojām ambiciozākā filma latviešu dokumentālā kino vēsturē, tās veidotāju komandai tika iedota burtnīca – ''kaujas reglaments'', kas jāņem vērā, dodoties filmēt. Šis materiāls ir daļa no ''Herca Franka koda'' izstādes.
